Stephen Fry, presenter of QI and president of the mental health charity Mind, has tweeted a new wellbeing guide from rethinkyourmind.co.uk.

The Yellow Book aims to “educate, aid and support” people by giving tips on dealing with stress, anxiety and other psychological issues. It also includes “positive artwork and poetry”, as well as links to national organisations and charities.

Fry, 56, has a history of mental illness. His 2006 documentary The Secret Life of a Manic Depressive won an Emmy and was acclaimed by critics. He was later crowned Mind Champion of the Year in 2007 before becoming president of the charity four years later.

The 134-page book is free to download or print. It is hoped that accessible info will make it easier for people to cope with everyday mental challenges.

Readers are encouraged to “play” with the advice in order to find out which tips help the most.

The rethinkyourmind project is now in its fourth year of operation. It was originally created by Safe Inside – Safe Outside (SISO); a community support group from Leicester.

The movement was started to empower mental health service users, and is supported by the National Lottery.
